At Wellston Lube and Repair, we believe great automotive service starts with experience, honesty, and a commitment to the community we serve. Locally owned by Steve and Teresa Vanatter, our shop was built on a foundation of decades of automotive knowledge and a commitment to providing reliable service to drivers throughout Wellston and the surrounding areas.
Steve has worked on cars and dragsters since he was twelve years old, learning first from his dad, and then at the shop in Plainwell, where he worked as a certified auto mechanic alongside his wife, Teresa. In 1999, they moved to Wellston with their children and purchased Heart of the Forest Campground and White Tail Party Mart. They sold both businesses in 2024; however, retirement was short: Wellston Lube, a prominent business in the area, was in need of a new owner. From one family to another, the business changed hands: many employees at Wellston Lube are Steve and Teresa's children and grandchildren.
David has been working in the tire industry for more than 15 years, gaining extensive experience with OTR, commercial, and passenger tires. His passion for the automotive world began at just 14 years old, when he started tinkering with cars, and he has since built a well-rounded background by working in auto parts stores and repair shops. This combination of hands-on experience and industry knowledge gives him a deep understanding of vehicles and tire performance.
Tom's passion for the automotive industry began at 14, when he started tinkering with cars. After earning his automotive certifications in 2016, he has dedicated his entire adult career to the industry, building valuable experience through roles at auto parts stores and tire shops. His hands-on knowledge and commitment to the trade make him a trusted resource for customers and colleagues alike.
Chris built a strong foundation in automotive repair by completing approximately two years of automotive classes through CTC. He has also spent the past three years tinkering with cars, developing practical, hands-on experience and a growing passion for the industry. His combination of formal training and real-world practice continues to strengthen his automotive knowledge and skills.
Ethan has been working in the automotive industry for six years, building his experience through both education and hands-on shop work. He began taking automotive college courses while still in high school, started professionally working in a repair shop in 2021, and has been tinkering with cars since he was around 16 years old. He looks forward to using his knowledge and experience to provide reliable service to the community.
Angel brings valuable leadership experience from previous roles, along with a bachelor's degree in General Business. Her interest in the automotive industry began at a young age, helping her dad in the garage and developing an appreciation for hands-on work.
